From Philips Heritage to Global Expertise in Cooling & Heat Pumps

Re/Gent has its roots deep in Dutch refrigeration history. Our story begins in the early 1980s at Philips, where domestic refrigerators were still being developed and produced. When Philips decided to sell its refrigeration activities in 1993, two motivated scientists, Martien Janssen and Lambert Kuijpers chose to continue the work they believed in and Re/Gent was born.

In our early years, we stayed close to our origins and operated near the Philips facilities in Eindhoven. But as our activities grew and our expertise expanded, we moved to Helmond in 2000, where we continue to thrive today.

Our Name

Re/Gent stands for Refrigeration related to the Global environent and technology.

Located in the Dutch Brainport Region

Our home in Helmond places us at the center of the Brainport Region, one of Europe’s leading hubs for high-tech innovation, engineering, and collaborative development. Being part of this ecosystem gives us opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation.
