Start / Stall testing

Compressor start/stall / knocking noise test system (CSTS)

The Compressor Start / Stall / Knocking Noise Test System (CSTS) is a specialized platform designed to evaluate the dynamic behavior of compressors during the most critical operating moments: start-up, stalling events, and knocking noise occurrences. These characteristics are essential for defining compressor quality, reliability, and acoustic performance, especially in modern, efficient refrigeration and heating systems.

The CSTS accommodates a wide range of compressor applications:

  • Standard fixed-speed compressors driven by induction motors
  • Variable capacity compressors, including brushless DC (BLDC) models
  • Compatible with a variety of inverters

This flexibility makes the system ideal for engineering, R&D, and quality verification across diverse compressor platforms.

      The CSTS can automatically perform:

      • Start tests
      • Stall detection and stall behavior characterization
      • Knocking noise measurements

The CSTS exposes compressors to a large and precisely controlled range of parameters:

          • Suction pressure
          • Discharge pressure
          • Suction gas temperature
          • Ambient temperature
          • Supply voltage
          • Compressor winding temperature
