Compressor lifetime testing systems

Compressor lifetime testing systems

Re/Gent develops state-of-the-art lifetime testing systems to evaluate compressor robustness under realistic and accelerated conditions. Our solutions are used by manufacturers and research laboratories to validate reliability, support product development, and ensure long-term performance of both single-speed and variable-speed compressors.

Below you will find an overview of our two main systems:

  1. STAUP system: Start Against Unbalanced Pressure Test System

Modern refrigerators increasingly use stop-valves that isolate the condenser when the compressor stops. This causes the compressor to restart under a pressure imbalance, a demanding condition that stresses mechanical and electrical components. To reproduce this real-world load, Re/Gent developed the Compressor Lifetime test system for Start-Against-Unbalanced-Pressure: STAUP.

Purpose:

STAUP performs continuous, repeating start/stop cycles while maintaining a controlled pressure difference between suction and discharge. This reveals durability limits, start-up behavior, and potential design weaknesses much faster than field testing.

Key Features:

  • Testing of up to 12 compressors simultaneously
  • Two fully independent circuits (A & B) with 6 compressors each
  • Controlled suction pressure, operator-defined discharge pressure
  • Works with various refrigerants
  • Start/stop control via main power, frequency signal, or data bus
          1. CLT System: Wear, High-Temperature & On/Off Cycling

Complementing the STAUP system, Re/Gent also offers an up to 15 positions Compressor Lifetime System designed for general durability and endurance testing. Each position is fully independent, allowing simultaneous evaluation of multiple compressor samples under different life-test conditions.

          Key Features:

          • Up to 15 independent test stations, each capable of running its own full life test
          • Wear test
          • High temperature test
          • Fully automatic operation for long-duration testing
          • single-speed compressors
          • Highly flexible test conditions with user-programmable profiles
          • Designed for long-term durability studies and production validation
